Sermorelin’s Mass Is Not Tesamorelin’s Mass with a Haircut

A fragment and an analog do not share an observed mass. Do not scale one certificate onto the other.

Length is the point of the word fragment

Sermorelin is sold here as a GHRH fragment, 10 mg, $49.99. Tesamorelin is a different analog, 20 mg, $94.99. A fragment is a shorter sequence than the parent hormone people are thinking of, and an analog is a changed sequence. Shorter and changed do not land on the same molecular mass. If your note assumes they do, the note is wrong before any instrument is turned on.

You do not need to memorize the mass to avoid the mistake. You need to stop copying one product’s number into the other product’s row.

What task 134410 actually gives you

Task 134410 gives you a Tesamorelin percent, 22.59%, and a purity, 98.472%, for batch Tes-20 on May 13, 2026. It does not give you a Sermorelin mass, and the 22.59% is not a mass anyway. Using it as a stand-in for “how much Sermorelin” stacks two errors: wrong molecule, wrong unit.

Leave that file in the Tesamorelin folder. Let it be good at its own job.

If you calculate a mass, label it as homework

Residue tables can produce a calculated mass for a published sequence. That calculation is only as good as the sequence you typed, the termini you assumed, and the salt form you ignored. It is not an observed mass from the vial. Write “calculated” in the same cell, with the sequence source, or do not write it.

An observed mass on a future Sermorelin report replaces the homework for identity purposes. It still does not replace the 10 mg label. Identity and fill amount are different sentences.

Chromatography will not rescue a swapped name

A clean peak does not know which name you typed above it. If the sample vial in the autosampler was Sermorelin and the report header says Tesamorelin, the peak is not a reconciliation. Fix the header or rerun the paperwork. Do not decide the names are “close enough” because both peptides are lyophilized and white.

Method, sample, date, result. ICH and FDA documents keep circling that list because people keep skipping the sample.

Two masses, or none

Quote a mass only when the file in your hand printed one for that sample. Adults 21 and older. Laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Separate calculated from observed in the sheet

Two columns, different colors if you must. Calculated mass, with the sequence source written beside it, can live in a chemistry tab. Observed mass can live only in a tab fed by a report for Sermorelin. There is no formula that copies one column into the other. If you want them compared, compare them in a sentence that says which is which.

Task 134410 does not feed the observed column. It does not feed the calculated column either. It feeds Tesamorelin’s percent and purity, in Tesamorelin’s file, for batch Tes-20.

Adults 21 and older. Laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Lock the calculated-mass tab so only one person can edit the sequence source. A shared cell with no owner will be “corrected” by someone who prefers a different terminus and then treated as observed. Observed mass, when a Sermorelin report prints one, is typed by hand from that PDF. No formula reaches across from Tesamorelin.

If someone pastes 22.59 into a Sermorelin mass column, they have already mixed a percent with a mass and mixed a SKU with a SKU. 22.59% on task 134410 is a content percent for Tesamorelin 20 mg, batch Tes-20, not a milligram figure and not a Sermorelin result. Delete the paste. Leave the Sermorelin mass cell empty until a report prints a mass for a sample named Sermorelin. The 10 mg on the cap stays the label amount either way.
