Mass divided by total volume
A concentration in milligrams per milliliter is calculated by dividing the material mass in milligrams by the final solution volume in milliliters. Units should be written at every step.
Aliquot calculations
The mass in a research aliquot equals the stock concentration multiplied by the aliquot volume. The calculation should be recorded with the source values, units, significant figures, and preparer.
Calculation is not suitability
Arithmetic does not establish solubility, stability, compatibility, or experimental suitability. Those decisions require material-specific evidence and an approved research procedure.
