Purity describes relative composition

A chromatographic purity percentage describes detector response attributed to components under a stated method. It is not automatically the same as the total mass of the target material in the container.

Content addresses amount

A content or mass result evaluates how much of the identified material is present according to the stated procedure. The report should communicate units, calculations, reference standards, and acceptance limits clearly.

Use the evidence together

Identity, purity, content, water or volatile material, and endotoxin results can answer different questions. A documentation review is stronger when each conclusion is tied to an appropriate method and batch.
