Missing traceability
A certificate is difficult to apply when it lacks a product identity, sample or batch number, report identifier, test date, issuing laboratory, or connection to the received label.
Results without context
A percentage or pass statement should not stand alone. Ask what method produced it, what units apply, what specification was used, and whether the document identifies limitations or calculations.
Unclear authenticity or revision status
Inconsistent branding, cropped pages, missing authorization, conflicting dates, unreadable chromatograms, unexplained edits, or no way to contact the issuing laboratory justify additional verification.
References and further reading
Open the original sources and evaluate their methods, limitations, and applicability independently.
