The arithmetic looks tempting
Task 87708 prints four masses. A spreadsheet will add them if you let it. The total is not printed on the report as a single KPV result, and it is not the labeled amount of the KPV 10 mg vial. Component masses from one blend sample answer that sample. They do not fuse into a new identity when you press the sum button.
The catalog name KLOW 80 mg is the name of the blend listing. It is not a promise that the four lines add to 80.00. Read the lines. Leave the name as the name.
Why the sum misleads
Each line was a measurement of a named component under the method used for that report. Adding them treats every milligram as the same kind of fact. Even if the math is tidy, the tidy total is a new number the lab did not report. New numbers need a method. “I added the column” is not a method on the certificate.
Using that total as the content of a KPV-only vial is a second leap. The single never went through that assay as a single.
11.75 stays 11.75, in its box
If you cite the KPV component, cite 11.75 mg, task 87708, KLOW sample, November 13, 2025. Say there was no purity percent. That citation cannot migrate onto KPV 10 mg, $39.99, without a report for that SKU.
Do not round 11.75 to 12, and do not round it to 10 to make it match the single’s label. Both roundings erase the only honest reading, which is the printed figure in its original home.
What a single’s file has to do instead
A report for KPV 10 mg should name that sample, not the four-part blend. It should show the method and the result in the unit the lab chose. It might be a mass, a percent, or both. It might not look like task 87708 at all. Judging it by whether it “matches the blend line” is the wrong test.
Match sample name, batch, and date. Then read the result that is there.
Leave the column unsummed
Four lines, four citations, or one citation that quotes all four and names KLOW. No fifth number. Adults 21 and older. Laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Turn the sum cell off
If the sheet auto-totals the four KLOW masses, break the formula. Leave a label in that cell: do not add. The total will look like a result the first time someone sorts the column. You will not remember, six weeks later, that you invented it on a Tuesday.
Quote 71.36 mg, 12.41 mg, 11.12 mg, and 11.75 mg only with task 87708 and the word KLOW. Quote 10 mg only with the KPV single and $39.99. The moment a sentence contains both 11.75 and the single’s SKU as if they were the same measurement, rewrite the sentence.
Adults 21 and older. Laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
If a coworker already added the column, archive that sheet with a note that the total was not on task 87708, and start a clean sheet. Do not keep using the file because the formatting is nice. Nice formatting is how an invented total survives three employees. The four printed masses can be retyped. The sum should not be.
If a pivot table already summed them, delete the pivot and keep the source rows. The source rows from task 87708 are GHK-Cu 71.36 mg, BPC-157 12.41 mg, TB-500 (TB4) 11.12 mg, and KPV 11.75 mg, with no purity percent on that report. Four rows. No total row. The KPV 10 mg catalog line is a fifth thing that is not in that table at all, priced at $39.99, and it does not get a calculated parent.
